Margaret Fleeman
Charlotte, North Carolina

Inspired by her global travels and study of mystical teachings, Margaret Fleeman uses the abstract and representational language of symbolism as a vehicle in capturing an iconographic roadmap of self-expression in her artwork.

Margaret started painting and exploring fine art applications more than 25 years ago. Over the years, she has applied her creative skills in varying fields -- as a fine art painter, textile designer, interior designer, and color consultant.

She received an MS in Textile Design from Philadelphia College of Textiles & Science, and a BFA in Textile Design from Rhode Island School of Design. She moved to North Carolina to pursue a career designing for the Home Fashions industry. Her textile background led to an interest in regenerative design thinking and a Masters in Sustainability from Wake Forest University in 2016.

With a full-time focus on painting, recent awards include being juried into ArtFields 2024 show and the ArtPop Street Gallery class of 2024 Cities Program.
