About the event

Stop by the gallery on Friday, February 6 from 5-8pm as we kick off our next Featured Artist Show with John Komisin.

Everyone is welcome to drop in for this fun and casual event. Meet the artists and enjoy wine and small bites.

John is an artist and architect living in Charlotte. His training as an architect influences his work as an artist and his unique approach to creating abstracted cityscapes. He is interested in how various levels of abstraction enable vastly different moods and emotional connections, enabling the viewer to fill in the piece based on their personal experiences.

John works primarily in oil with palette knives. The medium and the tools are conducive to building rich textures and more spontaneity in paint application and expression. His constant challenge is to set aside his professional training and eye for detail to abstract the composition and freely explore the complex maze of materials, shapes, forms, colors and reflections that any composition in the built environment yields.

All of the artists with Carolina Fine Art will also be represented during this Featured Artist Show which runs through the month of February.
